Dr. Albert W. Richert, Jr.
Board Certified Pediatrician
A native of Sulphur, Dr. Richert practically grew up at The Pediatric Center. He attended Our Lady's School in Sulphur and then Saint Louis Catholic High School in Lake Charles. He majored in microbiology at LSU and then went on to medical school at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. He completed the residency program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He moved back to Sulphur and joined his father at The Pediatric Center in July, 2004. His wife, Linley, is also a native of Sulphur, and together they have three children.
Dr. Jenny Thomas
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Thomas hails from Baton Rouge. She majored in microbiology at LSU before attending LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. She completed her pediatric residency at University of Mississippi Medical Center and then joined The Pediatric Center in July of 2005. Her husband, Dr. Ken Thomas, MD, is a Family Practitioner in Sulphur and together they have five children.
Dr. Alycia Rodgers
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Alycia Rodgers attended the University of Montevallo and Meharry Medical College. She completed her pediatric residency training program in Pediatrics at Cook County Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL. Upon graduation, she became a faculty member at the University of Chicago Hospital and Health System. She maintained dual hospital privileges as an Attending Physician at both the University of Chicago Children's Hospital and at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital.
Dr. Julie Babineaux
Board Certified Pediatrician
Raised in Moss Bluff, Dr. Julie Babineaux attended Louisiana State University where she earned her B.S. Degree. She attended medical school at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she also completed her pediatric residency. She and her husband Ned, also a Moss Bluff native, returned home in 2009.
Dr. Lyle Stephenson

Dr. Stephenson is a native of Sulphur and a graduate of Sulphur High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University. He attended medical school at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA, where he also completed his residency in Pediatrics. He and his wife, Theresa, have two sons.
Dr. Sarah Hickey-White
Board Certified Pediatrician
Dr. Hickey-White was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. She attended Harding University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. She is a veteran of the Army Reserves, having served a tour in Iraq. She is happily married with two sons and two cats.
Dr. Cara Fontenot
Dr. Fontenot was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. She attended LSU for her undergraduate degree before going to LSUHSC in Shreveport, LA for medical school. She then, went on to complete her residency at UTHSC/Le Bonheur in Memphis, TN. Cara is married to Eric who is a practicing Gastroenterologist. Together they have 4 boys with whom they love spending time with doing all things outdoors. Cara and her husband are excited to return home to Lake Charles to practice.
Rachel Waller, PNP
Rachel Waller, originally from Sterlington, graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She continued her education, earning a Masters' of Science in Nursing from Grambling State University in 2011. Rachel worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at St. Francis Medical Center while studying for her advanced degree. Since 2011 Rachel has worked at several pediatric primary care clinics in the Monroe area. Rachel now lives in Lake Charles with her 2 daughters.
Amanda Dawson, FNP-C
Amanda Dawson is a native of Southwest Louisiana. She graduated from McNeese State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. As she continued her education, she worked in NICU and home health before earning a Master of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University in 2016. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, Amanda has become board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and has worked in family practice. She lives in the Westlake area with her two dogs.
Angelina Hennigan, PA
Angelina Hennigan is a native of DeRidder, Louisiana. She attended The University of Louisiana at Monroe then McNeese State University where she graduated in 2017, with a BS in Biology. She continued her education at LSU Health Sciences in Shreveport, Louisiana where she graduated in 2021, with a Master's in Physician Assistant studies. She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Angelina currently resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Born and raised in Jennings, Louisiana, Dr. Richert Sr. majored in biochemistry at Louisiana State University before going on to medical school at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. He completed his pediatric internship at Duke in North Carolina and then spent two years of residency at Emory in Atlanta. He moved to Sulphur in 1974 to open Sulphur Pediatric Clinic, which later became The Pediatric Center of Southwest Louisiana. He and his wife, Gay, have four children.
