Raised in West Helena, Arkansas, Kara Newingham earned her B.S. from Arkansas State University and her M.Ed., from the University of New Orleans. She has 18 years of experience in the counseling field and has called Louisiana home for the past 21 years. Kara is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH). In addition to being licensed in Louisiana, she is licensed to practice in Texas. She and her husband, Larry, stay busy raising two teenagers and their Australian Shepherds. Kara also enjoys writing and is currently working on her second book.

Melissa Hickey-White is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Melissa has 8 years of experience in the counseling field. She graduated from LSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from ACU. Melissa is a resident of Sulphur and is married with 2 children and several pets.
